Westa Honeycutt

Asheville - Mary Westa Roland Honeycutt, 86, died Wednesday November 11, 2009 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Silas and Ida Rice Roland and the wife of the late Roy Mace Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Carl Roger Honeycutt, three brothers and one sister. Surviving are her daughter, Sylvia Honeycutt Hitchcock of Asheville; granddaughter, Courtney Hitchcock Filiss and husband Zeke and great grandson, Trevor Stewart Filiss. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Elk Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
