Wayne Dover

Asheville Wayne Vernon Papaw Dover, 87, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired in 2000 from M.B. Haynes Corporation where he served as Line Superintendent for over 37 years and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Dover was a son of the late Lester Candler and Grace Dover Candler and husband of Clara Mae Massey Dover who died November 12, 2006. Surviving are his sons, Vernon Dover (Cheryl) of Leicester, J.L. Dover (Melinda) and Sammy Dover (Darleen) all of Asheville; grandchildren, Lynette Sizemore, Bryan Dover, Scott Dover, Shannon Ratcliff, Jennifer Parham and Eric Dover; great grandchildren, Courtney, Madelyn, Colton, Rebekah, Austin, Aaron, Sawyer, Coleman, Shelby, Justin, Ashlyn, Griffin and Everette; brothers, Junior Dover (Bitsy) of Asheville and Tommy Candler (Connie) of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dean Rice officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
