Walt B. Michael, Jr.

Asheville Walter Bond Walt Michael, Jr., 81, of 325 Haywood Road, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A native and resident most of his life of Buncombe County, he had worked at Standard Brands Food Company and was a retired Antique Dealer, was of the Baptist faith, and served in the US Army. Mr. Michael was the son of the late Walter Bond Michael, Sr. and Helen Louise Whiteside Michael. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lee Michael. Surviving are his lifelong partner, Dennis C. Alexander of the home; sister, Helen Louise Lucy Michael of Asheville and niece, Brenda Crawford and nephew, Terry Lee Michael, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Esta Jarrett and Rev. Nathan Pruett officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Thursday at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
