Virginia Parham

September 5, 1921 — February 8, 2013

Leicester Virginia Lee Brown Parham, 91, of 89 Tipton Hill Road, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Emerald Ridge Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly employed with Three Mountaineers and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church where a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Parham was a daughter of the late Ulus Vascombe and Blanche Eula White Brown and wife of Argle Willard Parham who died in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eugene Parham; brother, J.V. Brown and sisters, Junie Gibson, Jewel E. Debruhl and Stella Sluder. Surviving are her daughter, Drucella Ann Gaddy and husband Eddie of Mars Hill; son, Harold Parham and wife Gail Marie of Candler; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Parham of Asheville; sister, Oletta Sluder of Alexander; brother, Irland Brown of Hendersonville; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Parkinson Association of the Carolinas, 5970 Fairview Road, Suite 217, Charlotte, N.C. 28210.
