Virginia Corn

June 13, 1930 — August 7, 2014

Asheville Virginia Mimi Plemmons Corn, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Burder Rickman Plemmons and Sally Mae Smith Plemmons. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by husband, Carl Jackson Corn; brother, Harold Plemmons; and sister, Mabel Morgan. Virginia was a lifelong home maker, enjoying every moment, who was devoted to her family and the Lord. She was also a member of Riverside Baptist Church for the past 20 years. Surviving are her children: Sonya and husband Rev. John Honeycutt of Asheville, Gail husband Doug Waldrup of Barnardsville, and Rick Corn of Asheville; sister, Mickey Camby of Fairview; grandchildren: Johnny, Chris, Jason, Sheila, Chevy, Jackson, and Erika; 6 great grandchildren; and by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Riverside Baptist Church, 871 Riverside Drive, Asheville. Pastor John Honeycutt will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1 2 PM. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of the John F.
