Violet Myrtle Pinkerton

Asheville Violet Myrtle Hartsell Pinkerton, 97, formerly of 414 Lakeshore Drive, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Fleshers Fairview Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native of Jonesville, SC, she and her family moved to Asheville in 1922. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Asheville. Mrs. Pinkerton was the daughter of the late James William and Annie Johnson Hartsell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Estel Charles Pinkerton, who passed away in 1994; four sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her sons: Charles Samuel Pinkerton and wife Judy of Asheville and Thomas Estel Pinkerton and wife Sharon of Candler; grandchildren: Tonna Davis of Candler, Riecka Chapel of Asheville, Chrissy Moss of Candler, Alexander Samuel Pinkerton of Asheville and Maranda Warren of Candler; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Monday at the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the Rev. Sharon Waters officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
