Vera Pace

Asheville Vera Lorena Henson Pace, 92, formerly of 384 Old County Home Road passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Rutherford County, she resided in Buncombe County since 1943. She retired as a Sales Clerk with Sky City Stores. Mrs. Pace was a daughter of the late William Horace Henson and Lilly Ester Harrill Henson and the wife of the late William Albert Pace who died March 9, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Mae King, Ruby Lois McMahan, Mary Helen Fritzpatrick and brother, James Henson. Surviving are her son, Terry Lee Pace & wife, Sharon of Asheville; grandsons, Terry Lee Pace, Jr. and Andy Freeman both of Asheville; granddaughter, Bridgette Pace and great-grandson, Dylan Pace. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Jack Presnell officiating.
