Timothy Tyrone Boyd

Timothy Tyrone Boyd, 49, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Blanche Boyd and the late James Edward Boyd. Tim was an Army veteran who served in Desert Storm and later worked at the U.S. Postal Service. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Tarheels and was a member of Calvary F.W. Baptist Church, Swannanoa. Surviving are his wife, Judith Boyd; children, Christina McGahey and husband Ross and Michael Horne and wife Katie; grandchildren, Isabel Horne, Sara McGahey and Jake McGahey; sister, Pamela Hyatt and husband Steve; brothers, Jeff Boyd and wife Bridget, Cliff Boyd and wife Anne and David Boyd and wife Cindy; special niece and nephew, Dena and Ricky Browning and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Larry Collins and Pastor Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
