Thomas Harvey "Tom" Johnson

Leicester - Thomas Harvey Johnson, 55, of 24 Prestwood Place died Saturday, July 10, 2004 at his home following a period of declining health. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina he was a native and resident most of his life in Buncombe County. He retired in 1990 from the City of Asheville Water and Collection Department, member and chair person of the Pure Association with the City of Asheville and charter member of Aaron Baptist Church. He was a son of Doris L. Johnson and the late Rev. Weldon Woodrow Johnson, Sr. and was also preceded in death by his brother, the late Weldon W. Johnson, Jr. Surviving in addition to his mother are his niece, Cynthia Burrell and husband, Rick and great nephew, Joe Fowler all of Candler; nephew, David Johnson of Asheville; great niece, Jordan Johnson of Anderson, South Carolina; very special friend, Forrest Adams of Asheville and a host of friends. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aaron Baptist Church with the Revs. Daniel Stephenson and Eddy Czaplinski officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church.
