Fairview - Thomas Byron (Tommy) Sales, 47, of 8 Elmers Place died unexpectedly Friday December 15, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was an Independent Sales Representative for National Welders and a former Welding Supply Salesman for Pioneer Welding Supply for 23 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a 1977 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and a 1979 graduate of A.B. Tech where he received his A.A.S. in Business Administration. He was a son of the late Fred Elmer Sales and Clara Mae Sweet Kolocas. Surviving are his companion and best friend, Denise Galloway Corn and daughter, Amanda both of Fairview; brother, Freddie Sales and wife Ann of Asheville; niece, Susan Sales Weaver and husband Michael of Asheville; nephew, Samuel Sales and wife Christy of Fairview; his best K9 buddy, Dakota; several cousins and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Cane Creek Cemetery with Pastor Phil Dillingham and T.J. Dillingham officiating. Pallbearers will be Samuel Sales, Eddie Masters, Marshall Millican, Doug Nesbitt, Chuck Wines and Chris Meadows. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at his residence.
