Thelma Virginia Wallace

Asheville - Thelma Virginia Hudgins Wallace, 85, of Asheville, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, she retired in 1984 from Gerber Products following 25 years of service. She was a born-again Christian and was currently attending Fairmont Baptist Church. Mrs. Wallace was the daughter of the late Marcus and Irene Gaddy Hudgins and the widow of James Calvin Wallace, who passed away in 1964. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Calvin Wallace, Jr., and a granddaughter, Robin Wilson. Surviving are her sons: James Bernice Butch Wallace and wife Linda of Arden, Henry Agard Wallace and wife Vivian of Candler, and Richard Arnold Rick Wallace and wife Deanna of Brevard; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gayle Brown, Rev. Harold Webb, and Rev. Richard Pea officiating. Burial will follow in the West Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Monday at the funeral home as well as a small gathering of friends at Trinity of Fairview Baptist Church on Concord Road in Arden following the graveside services.
