Thelma Revis Fore

Asheville - Thelma Revis Fore beloved mother, grandmother, and Nana went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 24, 2009, after a period of declining health. For the last six years she had made her home at Universal Health Care in Fletcher. Thelma Fore, Born December 24, 1913, was the daughter of James and Laura Belle Revis. She married C.M. Sid Fore, April 3, 1934. During their life together they were blessed with three children. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents James and Laura Belle Revis, and her husband Clarence M. Fore, and her beloved oldest son, Gerald Morris Jerry Fore. Her brothers, Thomas and Herbert Revis, and sisters, Janie Revis, Mabel Revis Jones, Emma Revis Hendrix, Jimmie Revis Jackson, Ruth Revis Penley, and a great-grandchild, Carley Rose Arrowood. Mrs. Fore is survived by her son Bruce Edward Fore and wife Joan of Asheville, daughter Shirley Fore Arrowood and husband Bobbie of Mills River and daughter in-law Daris Hyatt Fore of Asheville. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. We would like to thank Universal healthcare for the loving care that they gave to our beloved mother, grandmother, and Nana. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Thelma was a former member and choir director of Emma Baptist Church and most recently a member of Berea Baptist Church of Riceville where she served faithfully. Her true love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral home with the Revs. Stan Willet and Bobbie Arrowood officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
