Thelma Huggins

Leicester Thelma Autes Duckett Huggins, 91, of 234 Hookers Gap Road, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of South Carolina, Mrs. Huggins had resided in Haywood and Buncombe Counties for most of her life. She was a member of Community Chapel Church. Mrs. Huggins was the daughter of the late Jahu and Etta Sue Duckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hamilton Huggins, who passed away in 1958; sons: Paul Huggins and Rev. Dean Huggins; granddaughter, Erin Denise Huggins; four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her grandson, Charles Huggins and wife Ashley; three great-granddaughters: Erin, Skyler, and Colby, all of Canton; and two daughters-in-law: Lisa Odom and Sherry Huggins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Community Chapel Church, with the Rev. Dean Rice and Rev. David Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 10:45 AM Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist in final expenses. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Huggins family.
