Thad Jr. Styles

Candler - James Thad Styles, Jr., 74, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals after a battle with cancer. He was born in Bryson City to the late James Thad Styles, Sr. and Margie Buchanan Styles. He is preceded in death by his parents and his precious daughter, Karen Lynn Styles. He worked in the trucking industry for 35 years of which he retired from ABF in 1996. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and he served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Katheryn Cline Styles; sister, Emmie Winchester of Bryson City and many loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Gibson and Rev. Charles Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be held 3 P.M. Saturday at Swain Memorial Park in Bryson City.
