Asheville Stephen Quinn Maurice Quinn, 71, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Charles George VA Hospital. A native of Atlanta, GA, he had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired from the Social Security Administration and formerly was employed with the Asheville VA Medical Center. He was a member of the Asheville Rifle & Pistol Club and WNC Woodcarvers Association and was a US Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran. Mr. Quinn was a son of the late Emmitt Clarence Quinn and Edyth Bullard Quinn and was also preceded in death by his sister, Tee Quinn. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Jackie Jack Quinn of the home; son, Jason Ratcliff; daughter, Treva Cross and husband, Lacy; grandchildren, Kaley and Mitchell Cross, Justin and Carter Ratcliff all of Asheville; sister, Kaye Williams and her daughter, Kim; brother, Phil Quinn and his son, Hawkins and special cousin, Gail Spurlock of Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Stephen Ray and Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow at 2 PM in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military rites to be conducted by the US Marine Corps.
