Sigrid "Sig" Wampler

November 30, 1932 — September 8, 2007

Asheville - Sigrid Sig Ann Hollifield Wampler, 74, of 6 Lancelot Lane died Saturday - September 8, 2007 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center. A native of Rutherford County, she had lived in Buncombe County since 1964 and had been employed by Shipley's Ethan Allen for 30 years. She attended Pole Creek Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Julia Arrowood Hollifield. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Bowman and a brother, Everette Hollifield. Surviving are her husband John Jack Sevier Wampler, Jr. of the home; sons, Hank Bowman and wife Katha of Candler and Allen Bowman of Inman, SC; granddaughter, Britany Bowman of Inman, SC; Step Daughters, Ann Ingle and family of Atlanta, GA and Pamela Hood and family of Greensboro; sister, Patricia Allen-Hines of Forest City and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Pole Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
