Sheldon Klyne Greene

Marshall Sheldon Klyne Greene, 50, of 248 Collins Road, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he had resided in Madison County most of his life. Sheldon was a 1974 graduate of North Buncombe High School, and had attended Mars Hill College. He was self-employed as an artist and a member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church. A wonderful man, Sheldon loved life, loved to make people laugh, and had never met a stranger. He was a proud father who loved his sons more than life itself. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Sheldon was the son of Dellis Greene of Marshall and the late Frances Viola Reece Greene. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Dell Greene. In addition to his father, surviving are his sons: Brandon M. Greene and Jonathon R. Greene, both of the home; sister, Vetina G. Woodard and husband Michael of Marshall; brother, Steve Greene of Reidsville, NC; nieces: Miranda and Kayla Woodard of Marshall; and a nephew, Bradley Greene of Etowah. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 3 PM Sunday at his residence. The family will receive friends following the service, and at other times the family will be at the home of Sheldons sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sheldons name may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
