Leicester - Sheila Gail Teague McPeters, 52, of 918 Teague Road, went to be with her Lord Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, and a resident of both Buncombe and Madison Counties, Sheila was a 1973 honor graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, and worked with the Buncombe County Tax Department for 27 1/2 years, most recently serving as the Tax Listing Supervisor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had attended Redmon Baptist Church. Sheila was always a person who thought of other people before herself. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend, known affectionately to her grandchildren as Mamaw. Her beautiful smile will always be missed. Sheila was the daughter of Modeen Lewis Teague of Marshall, and the late Gilmer George Teague. In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Roger E. McPeters, to whom she was happily married for 35 years; daughters: Shannon McPeters of the home and Melissa McPeters Herzog and husband Greg of Chapel Hill; grandchildren: Ashley Kaitlin Smith, Hannah Marie Smith, Emily Gail Herzog, and Ethan Gregory Herzog; sister: Teresa Teague Lee and husband Larry and nephew Stephen, all of Greer, SC; and sister-in-law, Brenda McPeters Robinson of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cecil Hopps and Rev. Aubrey Folk officiating. The Buncombe County Sheriffs Department Color Guard will be standing post and serving as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Redmon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Monday at the funeral home. A fellowship for family and friends will be held following committal services at Redmon Baptist Church, 2675 Bear Creek Road, Marshall, NC. A special thanks to all of the medical professionals at St. Joseph and Duke Hospitals, especially Dr. Jon Gockerman.
