Sarah Virginia Roberts

Asheville Sarah Virginia Roberts, 83, of Asheville and Arden, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her home after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Walter J. Bryant, Sr., and Mabel Carpenter Bryant of Asheville, and the wife of the late Floyd Roberts, who died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty B. Walker, and a brother, Jennings F. Bryant. Affectionately known as Wootsie, she had many friends and acquaintances, and was a member of Averys Creek United Methodist Church. Sarah is survived by a brother, Walter J. Bryant, Jr. and wife Anne of Asheville; sister, Jane B. Elrod of Greenville, SC; a dear friend, Mary Wright; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Warren Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
