Sarah Bryant Buckner

Weaverville - Sarah Bryant Buckner, 90, of 176 Reems Creek Road, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 at Park Ridge Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of Dover, TN, she had resided most of her life in Buncombe County. Mrs. Buckner retired from the slashing department at American Enka, and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Watson and Martha Ann Elizabeth Yarborough Bryant, and the widow of Robert Phillip Buckner, Sr., who passed away in 1959. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Ramona Fields and husband William of Asheville; son, Robert Phillip Buckner, Jr. and wife Frann of Asheville; sister, Lillian Ross of Dover, TN; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Gregory and Rev. Homer Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
