Sam E. Todd

Arden Samuel Elbert Sam Todd, 72, of Arden, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Todd was a veteran of the US Navy. He was proud of his Cherokee Indian lineage, and was an avid outdoorsman. His passion was cars, and was a diehard auto racing fan of any form. But, above all, he loved Jesus. Mr. Todd was the son of the late William and Lucille Godfrey Todd, and was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Neal Todd; and brothers: Wayne, Tony, and Ronnie Todd. Surviving are his daughter, Ginger Renee Todd; sisters: Sharon McKinney, Gale Bowman, Marie Calloway, and Lucy Green; brother, David Todd; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Ronald Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
