Ruth Mcfee

ASHEVILLE - Ruth Edwin Drake McFee, 96, of Asheville, died on Friday, June 29, 2012. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. McFee was the daughter of the late John R. and Hannah Jackson Drake and the wife of the late Henry Cleveland McFee Jr. Mrs. McFee was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church. She retired from Blue Ridge Trucking Company as Office Manager. She loved to play BINGO. At 93 she learned to make quilts and made 13 before her death. Mrs. McFee is survived by; son, Robert (Bobby) McFee and wife Shirley of Lakeland FL, daughters Nancy Fox and husband Raymond of Burnsville NC, Darlene DeVore and husband James of Candler NC, and Sabrina Miller and husband Eddy of Fairview NC and honorable mention of nephew, Robert Edward Drake of Myrtle Beach SC. Mrs. McFee had 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday June 30, at Green Hills Cemetery, Asheville NC. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 223 Hillside St. Asheville, NC, 28801.
