Ruth Masters

Asheville Ruth Cochran Masters, 88, born in Bryson City on April 29, 1926, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the last charter member of Sand Hill Baptist Church, and was the daughter of the late Joe and Florence Cochran and was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul Masters; son-in-law, Vernon Sexton; brother, Ralph and sisters, Dorothy, Bessie, Jean, Eloise and Bobbie. Surviving are her son, Ralph Wiggins and wife Kathey of VA; daughters, Betty Sexton and Debbie Stone and husband David all of Asheville; grandchildren, David, Scotty, Arron, Jonathan, Crystal, Angel, Belinda, Gelinda, Jeromie, Tenna, Shelia, Allen, Phillip and Brandi; 19 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Rick McCarson and Rev. Alf Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
