Ruth Mashburn

Asheville Ruth Lazanka Hyder Mashburn, 85, of 15 Kentucky Drive went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Mashburn retired in 1997 following 26 years of service with Mission Hospitals where she served in Computer Services. She was the daughter of the late Frank Harry Hyder and Ethel Hughey Hodgens and was the wife of William G. Mashburn, Jr. who died January 20, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Hyder, Jr., Robert Johnson and Charles W. Johnson and sister, Helen Greer. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Thomas of Asheville and Debra Lynn Mashburn of the home; sons, Larry D. Mashburn of Fairview, Harry G. Mashburn and Marvin Bruce Mashburn both of Asheville; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip Park officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
