Ruth Hicks Lindsey

Asheville Ruth Evelyn Hicks Lindsey, 85, of Asheville, went to be with her Lord Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of McDowell County and resident of Buncombe County most of life, she was a daughter of the late Rev. James P. Hicks and Nora Messer Hicks. She was the wife of Rev. Lawrence Albert Lindsey, Sr. who died March 14, 2008 and was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Helton formerly of Gastonia.. Surviving are her children, Brenda Kuykendall and husband Doug of Spartanburg, SC, Gail Dailey and husband Larry of Andrews, Mary Shuffler and husband Frank of Candler, Lawrence Albert Lindsey, Jr. and wife Debbie of Andrews and James Jimmy Lindsey and wife Beth of Asheville and 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Care Partners, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
