Ruth E. Praytor

WEST ASHEVILLE Ruth Frances Edwards Praytor, 94, formerly of 36 Maple Crescent passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 in a Marietta, GA Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County. She lived in Buncombe County from 1945 until 1998. Mrs. Praytor retired in 1980 following 27 years of service with American Enka Corporation where she served as a Supervisor in the Cone Winding Department. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was President and Treasurer of her Sunday School Class and was a member of the American Legion Womens Auxilary. Mrs. Praytor was the daughter of the late Carl Edwards and Maggie Mae Swangum Edwards and wife of Nixon Rowe Praytor who died in 1983. Surviving are her son, Edward Brown Praytor of Marietta, GA; brothers, James Edwards and David Edwards both of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Rodney Hagans, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Swannanoa.
