Candler Donald Russell Honeycutt, 75, of 28 Whispering Oaks Drive, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 2003 from Steelcase following over 20 years of service and was formerly employed for over 20 years with American Enka Corp. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 44 years. Mr. Honeycutt was a son of the late Blake and Annie Honeycutt and was also preceded in death by his sisters: Bleka Bishop and Barbara Perry; and former wife, Patricia Pat Plemmons Honeycutt. Surviving are his wife, Janice Reed Honeycutt, whom he married October 6, 1995, of the home; daughters, Karen A. Smith and husband Ken of Horse Shoe, Karen J. Sutton of Weaverville and Jennifer M. Jones of Candler; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Homer Sonny Honeycutt and wife Shelby of Woodfin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in the chapel of Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Walker and Rev. Allen Rash officiating, and Rev. Doug Guy and Stephanie Davis bringing their message in music. Graveside rites will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with his nephew, Rev. Ricky Bishop officiating. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
