Asheville Ruby Avis Hensley Burgin, 93, of 304 Macedonia Road, went to be with her Lord Saturday, March 31, 2007. A native of McDowell County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1955, was a seamstress for Iveys and Hunter & Coggins Clothing Store and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. Mrs. Burgin was a daughter of the late Harry Winfield Hensley and Arrie Belle Westall Hensley and wife of the late Paul Gordon Burgin. Surviving are her sons, Mike Burgin and wife, Brenda of Asheville, Paul Harold Burgin and wife, Peggy of Chapin, S.C.; former daughter-in-law, Marta Burgin of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Nell Brown of Linville, N.C., Helen Thomas of Corvallis, Oregon; brother, Charles Hensley of Mt. Holly, N.C.; grandchildren, Bryan Burgin, Suzanne Jones and Stuart Burgin, all of Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Caroline & William Burgin and Hunter Jones. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hughes and Rev. Wayne Adkisson officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2835 Old Fort Sugar Hill Road, Old Fort, N.C. 28762.
