Asheville –Ronnie Lee Grooms, 69, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Swannanoa Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Madison County, he resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a son of the late Coy and Barbara Radcliff Grooms. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Maggie Hope Grooms.
Ronnie attended Ridgeview Missionary Baptist Church and loved to sing and worship The Lord. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially fishing. He loved to spend time with his family and his beloved dog, Bandit.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Loretta Grooms, Dewayne Grooms and wife Vivian, Jean Grooms Duyck, Kathy Grooms Roberts, Patricia Grooms English, Mike Grooms and wife Shirley, Ray Grooms and wife Beth, and Becky Grooms Rivenbark and husband Darrell; and by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Jenkins and Rev. Coy Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 till 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Grooms, Matt Grooms, Josh Grooms, Travis Duyck, Nick Hagen, Chris Carver, and Darrell Rivenbark.
