Ronnie Jackson

Leicester Jay Ronnie Jackson, 61, of 21 Jim Stevens Road went to be with his Lord Thursday, October 30, 2008. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He worked at Grove Park Inn as a Team Supervisor-Security since 2004, served as NCHSAA official for our local High Schools, was a loving father and papaw and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Mr. Jackson is the son of Catherine Young of Leicester and the late Bill Jackson. He is also preceded in death by a son, Joey Jackson. Surviving in addition to his mother are his daughter, Tina Jackson Watkins & husband, Rev. Keith Watkins of Leicester; son, Jayme Dow Jackson & wife, Etiska of Asheville; his precious grandchildren who meant the world to him, Autumn Watkins, Jackson Watkins and Abigail Watkins all of Leicester; sisters, Shirley Warren & husband, Roy of Asheville, Donna Robinson & husband, Alfred and Diane Worley & husband, Jack all of Leicester; and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Watkins and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors conducted by Buncombe County Veterans Council. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
