Roger Dale Porche

Black Mountain - Roger Dale Porche, 54, of 101 Lions Way, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native of Madison County, he had resided most of his life in Buncombe County. Roger was the son of the late Max Zelf Porche and Doris Metcalf Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Jerry Fletcher. Surviving are his sisters: Linda Farmer of Brentwood, TN, Deonne Reese of Leicester, and Debra Jones of Asheville; brothers, Mardi Porche of Enka and Michael Porche of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery in Mars Hill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
