Leicester - Roger Kent Chambers, 55, of 1047 Alexander Road, died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was employed with his family owned business, O.E. Chambers Oil Co., where he served as the President. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a son of Betty Hall Chambers of Asheville and the late Orman Eli Toad Chambers who died in 1998. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Deborah Debbie Lynn Bradley Chambers of the home; daughters, Teresa Lynn Chambers Karn and husband Gilbert of Leicester and Angie Chambers Murphy and husband Keith of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Sondra Chambers Jarvis and Ginger Chambers both of Asheville; brothers, Randy Chambers of Asheville and Ricky Chambers of Charlotte; grandchildren, Christopher and Megan Karn, Bodhi Bagwell and Chloe Murphy; mother-in-law, Betty Williams of Leicester; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog and companion Gizmo. Funeral services will be held at 11 A. M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery with Military Rites by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his mother Betty Chambers, 6 Toad Drive (New Leicester Hwy)
