Robert Ward Gray

Asheville - Robert Ward Gray, 91, of 17 Botany Court died Thursday - August 9, 2007 at St. Josephs Hospital. A native of Tallahassee, FL, he had lived in Asheville for the past 45 years and retired as the director of the Southern Highland Craft Guild after 20 years of service. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a son of the late Joe and Melia Gray. Surviving are his wife, Verdelle Gray; brothers, Carlton Gray of Asheville and Stanley Gray of Charlottesville, VA. A reception/celebration of life will be held from 4 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday - August 18, 2007 at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Southern Highland Craft Guild, P.O. Box 9545, Asheville, NC 28815.
