Robert Garfield "Frog" Lawrence

Candler - Robert G. Frog Lawrence, 74, of 29 Dogwood Ridge Rd., owner of Frogs Paving Co., died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Lawrence was a native of Irdell County and had attended Maple Ridge Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Robert Garfield and Dorothy Templeton Lawrence and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Cleo Brown and Rachel Meyers. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Deal Lawrence of the home; daughter, Gail Lawrence Evans and husband Larry of Candler; sons, Ronnie Lawrence and wife Barbara and Randall Tadpole Lawrence all of Candler; sisters, Ramie Tutterrow and husband Gene of Myrtle Beach, SC and Margie Baker and husband Leo of Union Grove, NC; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Kenneth Ingle and Pastor Steve Fox officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice and the VHP nurses, especially Diana Kittles and Larry Park for the loving care they gave to Mr. Lawrence.
