Robert Clark Sommer

Asheville Robert Clark Sommer, 48, of Asheville, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Yorktown, NY, Mr. Sommer had resided in Buncombe County for the past nine years. He was employed with Southern Concrete Material as a truck driver for the last six years. Mr. Sommer was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Boettcher Sommer, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Diane Sommer. Surviving are his wife, Michelle Zill Sommer; children: Jessica Johnson and husband Nicholas, and Todd Rowe; grandchildren: Dylan and Kayla; and brothers: Jay Wegrzyn, Bruce Sommer and Richard Sommer. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Chaplain Tom Simpson and the Rev. Dr. Claude Kayler officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
