Richard Pless Christopher Jr.

Richard Pless Christopher, Jr., 54, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family after a long battle with leukemia. Richard was proud to be a Service Technician with Thompson Mechanical to which he dedicated more than 25 years. A native and life long resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Richard Pless Christopher, Sr. and Genevieve Ledford Fletcher of FL. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Martha Christopher; daughter, Athena Ann Carver and her husband James of Mars Hill; son, Richard Brandon Christopher of Leicester; step-son, Larry Wilson, Jr. of Candler; grandchildren: Mikayla Carver, Richard Tyler Christopher, Jenna Cagle, Gabriella Mary Wilson, and Cassidy Rose Miller; sisters: Joan Noaker and her husband Johnny, Helen Lemay and her husband John, and Mary Rossi Karns all of FL; brothers: Robert Ledford and Calvin Cox both of FL; by many nieces and nephews; and by his beloved dog, April Mae. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 13, 2014, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 till 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
