Rev. William "Bill" Follett

ASHEVILLE Rev. William Bill Follett, 79, formerly of 85 Tremont Street passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Asheville Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired as a carpenter with Asheville Housing Authority, was an ordained Baptist Minister, having served several churches over the years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Rev. Follett was the son of the late George Erwin Follett and Edith Hensley Follett and husband of the late Helen Louise Lipe Follett who died December 5, 2007. Surviving are his sons, Galen Follett of Robbinsville and Ron Follett of Asheville; sister, Winifred Crowder of Asheville; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Metcalf and Rev. Randy Crane officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
