Rev. Ralph Talmadge Head

Asheville Rev. Ralph Talmadge Head, 95, formerly of 20 McPherson Street, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was an ordained minister. Rev. Head retired from both Burlington Industries and Hourglass Cleaners. He was the son of the late Lattie Ponder and Vista Carson Head, and was the husband of Elsie Glee Head, who passed away in 1982. Rev. Head was also preceded in death by sisters: Ruth Hampton and Margie Ponder; and a brother, Lattie Head, Jr. Surviving are his daughter, Gale Parham of Asheville; and granddaughter, Teresa Parham of Titusville, FL. A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Head family.
