Rev. Nick Nichols

Asheville Rev. Elgene Robert Nick Nichols, 83, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his home. A native of Paola, KS, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1993. He formerly served as minister of the Haywood Street UMC, was a former member of the Asheville-West Rotary Club and was a Physicist in the U.S. Air Force. Rev. Nichols was the son of the late Ralph Dale Nichols and Olive Marston Kittell Nichols. Surviving are his wife whom he married December 7, 1957, Polly Ann Tombaugh Nichols of the home; sons, Mike Nichols of Grand Bay, AL and Wesley Nichols of Pocatello, ID and 5 grandchildren. No services are planned at the time.
