Rev. Daniel Paul Wright

Fairview Rev. Daniel Paul Wright, 66, of 340 Old Charlotte Highway, passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at his home. A native of Buncombe County, Rev. Wright was a graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and attended Florida Bible College. He served as the pastor of Cedar Mountain Baptist Church and was self-employed as a private contractor for Wrights Construction. He retired on disability due to declining health. Rev. Wright was the son of Dorothy Jones Wright of Fairview and the late Rev. Paul N. Wright. In addition to his loving mother, surviving are two daughters: Cynthia Leffler (Greg) of Suffolk, VA, and Sonya Hyatt of Arden; son, Jonathan Allen Wright of Candler; two step-sons: Ricky Clayton of Pigeon Forge, TN, whom recently retired from the military, and DeWayne Clayton of Fayetteville, NC; brother, Jack H. Wright (Barbara) of Boiling Springs, SC; two sisters: Shirley Taylor of Fletcher and Patricia Vess (Jerry) of Swannanoa; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday at Cane Creek Cemetery in Fairview. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
