Candler Rev. Charles Willard Sprinkle, 95, of 381 Reeves Cove Road, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his home. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1943. He had served in the US Navy during WWII. Rev. Sprinkle was a son of the late Rev. Everette Forrest Sprinkle and Myrtle Lillian Waldroup Sprinkle and husband of Lois Sprinkle who died October 6, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Johnathan Sprinkle and 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He was an ordained Baptist Minister, having been ordained in 1951 at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church, pastored at Middle Fork Baptist Church for one year and then started serving at Glady Missionary Baptist Church in June 1951. Rev. Sprinkle retired from the ministry in June 2011, having faithfully carried the gospel for 62 years. He pastored Glady Missionary Baptist Church, during which time he lead them to relocate and build a new sanctuary. He conducted many revivals, spanning six states and had great power with God and man and as his sons, we believe the same could be said about our dad that was said about Enoch, Hebrews 11:5, that he pleased God and of Abraham, James 2:23, that he was a friend of God. Surviving are his sons, Rev. Gerald Sprinkle and wife Nancy and Keith Sprinkle and wife Sherry all of Candler; sisters, Novella Cable, Juanita Worley and Eva Sprinkle all of Marion; brother, Jack Sprinkle of Nashville, TN; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Glady Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Rogers, Rev. Gerald Sprinkle, Rev. Greg Warren and Rev. Garry Rogers officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 26, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the US Navy. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
