Rebecca Louise Dyer

February 24, 1926 — October 24, 2009

Hendersonville Rebecca Louise Ray Dyer, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, stepped securely from this life on Saturday, October 24, 2009 into her Heavenly homenow well and healed. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Alma Wright Ray and the wife of the late Lloyd J. Dyer, who passed away in 1997. Rebecca and Lloyd were married for over 54 years. She is also preceded in death by her brothers: Richard, Max and Kenneth Ray. She was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her move to Hendersonville in 2003. Rebecca was employed with Burlington Industries for several years, but her love was in flower design. She attended school and became successful in becoming a Master Designer and owning her own florist shop known as Dyers Florist in Asheville. She leaves behind many that love her dearly. Her sweet Mom way touched many lives throughout the years. Her smile and gentle ways will be remembered and greatly missed. Surviving family are her daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Carlos; beloved pets: Jazz, Sam, and Snowball, with whom she made her home in Hendersonville since 2003; and two sons: Jerry and daughter-in-law Terri of Horseshoe, and Tom and daughter-in-law Rhonda of Tennessee. She was the proud grandmother of Amanda, Beth, Jacob and granddaughter RoseAnne, who passed away in 2001. Great grandchildren include Donovan, Jason, Morganne, Taylor, Peyton and Amber. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to talk about them. Three brothers surviving: Ben, Herb, and Earl Ray, all of Asheville. She also had several nieces and nephews, especially Hubert, Maxine, Tammy and Karen, all of whom checked on her daily. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Rev. Ken Sausedo of Grassy Branch Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elizabeth House Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville, N.C. A special thanks to those for prayers, love and support. The cards, visits, and especially the caregivers from Hospice and the support which was given to take care of our Mom will never be forgotten. May God bless you all.
