Rebecca Kemp

Asheville - Rebecca Jean Bridges Kemp, 62, of Asheville, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Kemp was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Grady and Dollie Buckner Bridges, and was also preceded in death by her husband, David Carter Kemp, and brother, Douglas Bridges. Surviving are her children: Christie Brown and husband Rusty, Kevin Kemp and wife Mitzi and Laura Kemp; four grandchildren; sisters: Lavenia Webb, Joan Messer, Colleen Thompson, and Lorene Townsend; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday in The Chapel of Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 3:00 PM Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Kemp family.
