Raymond Hoyle Chancey

Raymond Hoyle Chancey, 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Charles George V.A. Medical Center, Asheville, NC. A native of Copper Hill, TN, he had resided in Buncombe County, NC since 1983. He retired from the Air Force following 20 years of service and had worked at Mills & Lupton Industrial Supply in Cleveland. He was a member of Newfound Baptist Church. Mr. Chancy was the son of the late Cecil Lake Chancey and Ethel Culberson Chancey and was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Chancey. Surviving are his wife, Renith Williams Chancey; children: Deborah Chancey Scroggins and husband Garry, Janet Chancey Crabtree and husband Rick, Cynthia Chancey Allen and husband Jeff and Kevin Ray Chancey and wife Wendy; grandchildren: Alicia Khim, Jeremy Crabtree, Rodney Scroggins, Eric Allen, Dustin Scroggins, Matthew Chancey, and Mitchell Chancey; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC.
