Ray Douglas Fisher

April 4, 1944 — February 12, 2007

Asheville - Ray Douglas Fisher, 62, of 139 Hanover Street, passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Ray owned and operated Rays Lock and Key for many years. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and practical jokes. He was the son of the late Claude Fenoy and Elsie Cannon Fisher. Ray was also preceded in death by three brothers: Floyd Fisher, JC Fisher, and Alvin Fisher; and sister, Mildred Capps. Surviving are his wife, Pat Davis Fisher, of the home; son, Doug Fisher and wife Linda of Candler; grandson, Christian; step grandsons, Jeremy and Nathan; special mother-in-law, Lottie Davis, of Asheville; sisters: Willie Mae Jones of Asheville, Kathleen Fisher Bright of Canton, Alma Jean Goodpasture and husband Virgil of Fairmont, IN, and Frances Fisher of Asheville; brothers: Kenneth Fisher and wife Hope of Lancaster, SC, and Jimmy Fisher and Wayne Fisher, both of Asheville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, and at other times the family will be at his residence.
