Ralph Jr. Melton

Black Mountain Ralph Melton, Jr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he had served as manager of Ravenscroft Apartments and was custodian of Grassy Branch Baptist Church of which he was a member. Mr. Melton was a son of the late Ralph Marvin Melton and Maethorn Sams Melton. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Lib Wilson, Betty Warden and Phyllis Wilson and brother, Larry Melton. Surviving are his brothers, Bob Melton, Richard Melton and Russell Melton all of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 8, 2017 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. James King officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
