Ralph J. Banks

Ralph J. Banks, 82, went to be with the Lord, and be reunited with his daughter, Kathy, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ann Warren Banks. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Johnson. Ralph attended Freedom Baptist Church. Surviving are his loving companion of 34 years, Jean Rowett; children: Peggy Duerksen of Rockford, IL, and David Banks of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren: Shane Theiss, Rick Johnson, Michelle Vieau, Rebecca Buchanan, Jessica Banks, and Kyle Banks; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Frances Burnette of Swannanoa; and brothers: Bobby Banks and George Banks both of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 9, 2017 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith Hutchinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Care Partners Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or in person at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
