Ralph Ingle

Zirconia - Ralph William Ingle, 85, died peacefully on November 23, 2011. He was born April 6, 1926 in Asheville, NC to James Walter and Juanita King Ingle. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Blanch Austin; brothers, Hilliard, Albert, Lloyd and Ernest Ingle. Ralph was a Navy veteran serving in the Asian-Pacific Campaign in WWII. He was a clerk with US Postal Accounts before he enlisted. After service, he joined the Asheville City Police Department for 5 years, followed by 25 years as a Greyhound Bus Driver in Florida. He then retired and returned to his mountains, the place he loved best. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Helen Mulvaney Ingle of Zirconia and beloved children, Ralph A. Tony Ingle of Hendersonville, James Steven and wife Karen Ingle of Middleburg, FL, daughter, Patricia and husband Edward J. Russell of Zirconia and additional daughters, Debbie Clark, Cheryl Rumfeldt, Debbie Coshun and Teresa Goldsmith. Grandchildren: Mark Ingle, Starr Farmer, Melissa Davis, James William Ingle, Jessie Colleen Russell, Shannon Wilkie, Tracy Yoder, Jessie & James Vernon Kerstetter and Sabreena Goldsmith; 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Mildred Sprinkle of Asheville; sisters-in-law, Ann and husband Ernest Stacey, Margaret and husband Earl Driskill and many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends. As Ralph wished, visitation will be held at Anders-Rice Funeral Home on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 3 to 5 P.M. Followed by a celebration of his life with family & friends at the American Legion Hall in Hendersonville on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 3 to 5 P.M.
