Rachel S. Livengood

Asheville - Rachel Nell Stephenson Livengood, 91, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a charter member of First Church Of The Nazarene. Mrs. Livengood was a daughter of the late Francis Albert and Sallie Benison Stephenson and wife of the late Benjamin Harrison Livengood. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Israel, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 3 grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Ben Livengood of Arden, David Livengood and Charles Livengood both of Asheville, Janice Slagle of the home, Fred Livengood of Fletcher, Michael Livengood of MI, Sandra McHone, Roger Livengood and Marion Israel all of Leicester and Rev. Tim Livengood of IL; 24 grandchildren, including Crystal Misenheimer who she helped raise; 20 great grandchildren and 6 six great-great grandchidren. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:30 AM to 12 Noon Friday at the church.
