Asheville - Raymond Carl R.C. Fowler, Jr., 77, of Asheville, went home to be with his Lord Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Fowler worked as a painter, and was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War. He was an avid NASCAR fan, as well as a local dirt track enthusiast. Mr. Fowler was the son of the late Raymond Carl Fowler, Sr., and Mary Alene Clark Fowler. Surviving are his children: Raymond Carl Fowler, III, John Kevin Fowler, Dawn Fowler Garlow, and Jeffery Ray Fowler and wife Doris; grandchildren: Raymond Carl Fowler, IV, Gregory John Fowler, Zalee Fowler, John Robert Garlow, Katelyn Alexandra Garlow, Jared Morgan Garlow, Jacob Harrison Garlow, James Anthony Fowler, and Jeffery Ray Fowler, II; great-grandson, Raymond Carl Fowler V; great-granddaughter, Kyah Fowler; sister, Norma C. Fowler; brother, Bruce L. Fowler and wife Deborah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Mullenax officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Highway, Asheville, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
